Dodo is a Finnish environmental NGO. Dodo addresses environmental issues in community, we embrace complexity and figuring things out together. From the dining table, in the metro tunnel or on an adventure holiday, there is always a way to participate in addressing global environmental issues.
It’s important for us to come up with new solutions and cooperate even with unexpected allies. Here at Dodo, we aim to avoid unnecessary confrontations and examine environmental issues widely from different viewpoints. Subscribe to the infoletter.

Do you have old phones, GPS devices or digital cameras lying around unused?
Dodo’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs-funded Tesito project supports forest conservation in The Gambia, Senegal and Guinea-Bissau. Its partner, the Gambian Ministry of Environment, is in need of equipment for its field work.
In particular, working GPS devices, smartphones and digital cameras are needed. In addition, backpacks and rucksacks are useful for local authorities in the field.

Bring your donation to Dodo’s office at Turntable (Pasila’s Old Locomotive Stables, Veturitallinkuja, G-back) by 19.1.2025. You can bring the equipment on weekdays between 10-14, or at Dodo events. FFHC’s Finance Officer, Babanding Jaiteh, is currently taking part in an advanced QuickBooks training facilitated by CONNEKT. 📊
The training builds on existing skills and focuses on practical areas of financial management, including budgeting, project and grant tracking, financial reporting, bank reconciliation, and internal controls.💻
Developing these skills will support FFHC in further strengthening its financial systems, accountability, and reporting practices.📑

Tesito-hanke on saanut EKOenergy ecolabel rahoituksen aurinkoenergialla toimivan myyntikioskin rakentamiseen Trans-Gambian valtatien varrelle Dumbutoon, Lower Riverin Regionin alueelle. 🛣️
Kioski tarjoaa Jiffarongin ja Dumbuton naisviljelijöille oman myyntipaikan, koska tällä hetkellä heidän on vaikea kuljettaa satoaan suuremmille alueellisille markkinoille. 🥕🥬
FFHC:n johtaja Alpha Khan ja maatalousneuvoja Lamin Nyabally tapasivat Dumbuton kylän johtajia tarkastaakseen, mitatakseen ja vahvistaakseen kioskin rakennuspaikan. 🤝
Rakennuspaikka sijaitsee Dumbuton kautta Somaan johtavan valtatien varrella, joka on yksi Gambian tärkeimmistä teistä, ja kulkee maan halki idästä länteen.📍

Good news!
Tesito project has been granted a fund by EKOenergy to build a solar powered kiosk alongside the Trans-Gambia Highway, in Dumbuto, Lower River Region.🛣️
The kiosk will serve as a selling spot for the farmer women of Jiffarong and Dumbuto, who struggle to transport their products to bigger regional markets.🥕🥬
FFHC director Alpha Khan and Agriculture Extension worker Lamin Nyabally met Dumbuto community leaders to inspect, measure, and finalise the allocated site for the kiosk.🤝
The plot is situated alongside the highway passing through Dumbuto towards Soma, one of the Gambia’s most important roads, connecting the country from east to west.📍
