Welcome to reflect on the connection between global structures and local environmental actions!
At a time when traditional farming livelihoods and people’s connections to their own living environments are being systematically destroyed around the world, we gather our past, ongoing and future coworking NGO’s and activist to discuss the context of Environment and Palestine, as well as concrete actions to take.
The blockade of Gaza, which has intensified since October 2023, has deliberately starved more than half a million people, and Israel’s military operations have killed tens of thousands. The colonial roots of destruction are long and global global. At the same time as the genocide has took it’s place, the Palestinian environment has been almost completely destroyed. The Finnish government has been unable to support Palestine and to intervene Israel’s war crimes.
Join the lecture to think why, what and how can local environmental NGO’s and activist take stands and action in solidarity to Palestine.
The event is organized voluntaruly and from the need to react. The event is free of charge, but we recommend to transfer 10-20 euros to Palestine.
NOTE: The main language of the lection is Finnish. We will try our best to arrange translation in English if needed.
