Tesito Ethical Christmas Gift 2025

Ethical Christmas gift
Surprise your friend with a unique Christmas gift that protects forests and supports sustainable livelihoods in The Gambia! You will receive an e-card via email.

The Tesito project, funded by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and led by Dodo, aims to promote forest conservation in The Gambia, Senegal, and Guinea-Bissau through joint mapping efforts.

In addition, in the Jiffarong community, located on the buffer zone of Kiang West National Park in The Gambia, 90 women have started new livelihoods as vegetable farmers, replacing firewood sales as a source of income and improving household food security. Lemon tree seedlings are also being planted in the community garden to strengthen food security and the long-term sustainability of the garden.

As part of the protection of the national park, forest fire training is provided in schools located in the buffer zone in collaboration with the Gambian Forestry Department, teaching young people about the importance of forests and how to prevent wildfires.

Choose your preferred gift, make the payment via MobilePay via code #33075, and enter your email address in the message field. We will send you an e-card that you can forward or print for your friend!

If you purchase multiple gifts, we kindly ask you to make separate donations.

Funds collected will be used for the Tesito project to cover its annual co-funding share, which is 15% of the total budget.

Seeds for a farmer in Jiffarong, 10 €

In Jiffarong, women farmers build their livelihoods in the community vegetable garden. A 10 € donation provides one farmer with quality seeds for the new season. This gift supports her work, improves food security, and strengthens her opportunities for additional income from her harvest.

5 lemon tree seedlings for the Jiffarong tree nursery, 20 €

Women farmers in Jiffarong plant and care for lemon trees together in the community garden. By selling the fruit, they can maintain the garden and support their livelihoods. A 20 € donation provides the nursery with five new lemon tree seedlings.

Forest fire training for a school, 50 €

Forest fire training for students increases understanding of the importance of forests and how human-caused wildfires can be prevented. A 50 € donation provides one school with training that encourages young people to protect their environment.
